October 23, 2019, Wednesday - In conjunction with UPM Educators Week from October 14th until 17th, 2019, Agriculture Unit from Centre of Foundation Studies for Agricultural Science participated in two competitions organized by the Centre for Academic Development (CADe), Universiti Putra Malaysia. The competitions were held at the Experimental Theatre, Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Arts And Cultural Centre of UPM. Agriculture Unit has been selected as the Runner-Up for the Faculty/Centre for Best Teaching and Learning Innovation Practice Competition with a project titled “Syoknya Agro!” Camp: An Enjoyable Experience in Learning Agriculture. They also won two silver medals in the PutraInnocreative Poster Competition from two competing posters, namely, “Syoknya Agro!” Camp: An Enjoyable Experience in Learning Agriculture” and “Industrial Involvement in Agriculture Education”. The competition was attended by academic officers from each faculty and centre. The objectives of the competition were to enhance the knowledge and skills of UPM academics on the techniques or approaches of innovation in teaching and learning, recognize the excellence of teaching at the individual/institution level as recommended by the Ministry of Higher Education, disseminate and share best practice of R&D innovation implemented by each faculty to be utilized by the all UPM academic officers. May the victories created will enhance the culture of innovation and creativity in teaching and learning among educators and students, which in turn leads to academic excellence in higher education.
