ASPutra Enlivens the 2025 Jalur Gemilang Flying Competition with a Classic Cinema Theme

Serdang, 13 August – ASPutra participated in Pertandingan Kibar Jalur Gemilang 2025, which is part of Program Semarak Merdeka 2025 organized by the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Cultural and
Arts Centre (PKKSSAAS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). The judging session took place on 13 August 2025 at 1.00 p.m., involving 20 judges led by Mr. Husalshah Rizal Hussain from PKKSSAAS and
was documented by five photographers from Angkatan Senifoto Wilayah Persekutuan (ASFON WP).

With the theme “ASPutra Classic Cinema”, the ASPutra Organizing Committee (AJK) showcased their creativity by dressing in all black attire adorned with Jalur Gemilang pins, resembling classic cinema
workers. Guests were also treated to popcorn and mineral water, creating a nostalgic atmosphere reminiscent of the golden era of local cinemas.

As the main highlight, ASPutra staged a mini pantomime theatre performance titled Merdeka 404, featuring Tuan Hj. Mat Razi Abdullah, Puan Lydia Nadeera Noraidi, Encik Mohamad Najib Ab Aziz,
Puan Nur Ain Asyiqin Anas, and Cik Aina Suhaiza Mohamad Nazir. The play was directed by Encik Adi
Fadzli@Izwan Che Rosele and Puan Hasniah Hamid, with the script written by Encik Adi Fadzli@Izwan Che Rosele. The technical aspects of lighting and sound were led by Encik Mohd. Yazid
Mukhtar.

This participation received full support from the ASPutra management, despite many committee members being occupied with academic commitments. Nevertheless, their dedication and teamwork successfully fulfilled the objectives of participation: to foster and strengthen patriotic spirit among ASPutra staff, to uncover talents while building teamwork and solidarity, and to enhance ASPutra’s visibility in supporting the aspirations of UPM.

Program Semarak Merdeka is an annual PKKSSAAS event that brings together participation from all Responsibility Centres (PTJ) at UPM through various creative competitions, enriching the celebration of Malaysia’s Independence Month in August.
