Serdang, 9 January – A total of 13 staff members from the Centre for Foundation Studies in Science of Universiti Putra Malaysia (ASPutra), conducted a Benchmark Visit to the Pusat Asasi Sains Universiti Malaya (PASUM), Universiti Malaya. The ASPutra delegation was led by the Deputy Director 1 of ASPutra, Prof. Madya Dr. Noor Azmi Shaharuddin.
The visit aimed to strengthen mutual understanding and to share best practices in the management of foundation programmes. During the discussion sessions, both parties exchanged views on the policies governing the offering of foundation programmes to SPM school leavers, including admission criteria, curriculum structure, and overall programme direction.
In addition, the ASPutra delegation examined PASUM’s approaches to academic management, student welfare, and governance as references for best practices that could potentially be adapted and implemented at ASPutra. Discussions also focused on learning facilities and student support services, with the intention of benchmarking and enhancing existing facilities at ASPutra.
The visit further provided an opportunity to establish strategic collaborative networks between the two institutions, particularly in strengthening foundation programmes and improving the quality of educational services for students.
Overall, the benchmark visit is expected to serve as a catalyst for ASPutra’s continuous improvement in line with its aspiration for academic excellence and effective institutional management.
