SERDANG, 11 September 2025 – A total of 11 staff members from the Foundation Centre for Science, Universiti Putra Malaysia (ASPutra), comprising members of the Mathematics Unit and support staff, visited Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Klebang Besar Melaka to carry out the Mathemagics 2025 Program.
This program was organized by ASPutra in collaboration with Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Malim. A total of 96 Form 4 students from SMK Klebang Besar and 13 Form 5 students from SMK Malim participated as facilitators and participants. Thankfully, the program proceeded smoothly, blessed with good weather which contributed to the success of the event. It began promptly at 9:00 AM and concluded at 2:00 PM.

The objective of Mathemagics 2025 was to enhance students' interest and motivation in mathematics through engaging learning activities. The program featured four unique game-based modules: Pascal’s Triangle, which helped students understand binomial expansion using Pascal’s Triangle patterns; Strategic Quest, which guided students in applying logical thinking to solve real-life problems; Lontaran Harapan, which strengthened students' problem-solving abilities by encouraging them to evaluate different paths, assess costs, and select the most beneficial routes; and Mantik, which trained students to accurately calculate the gradient of a straight line from given points or equations.

Students actively participated in these games and eagerly tackled each challenge to win the prizes provided. Beyond knowledge acquisition, these activities significantly boosted their enthusiasm for mathematics.
Alongside the games, a promotional briefing targeted at Form 3, 4, and 5 students was conducted, offering detailed insights into ASPutra’s entry requirements, facilities, advantages of enrollment, and future academic opportunities both within ASPutra and UPM. This session was delivered by two experienced officers, Ms. Hasniah Hamid and Mr. Mohd Fadzil Suhaimi.
The program concluded with words of appreciation extended to all parties involved. It is hoped that such initiatives will continue to be held in the future and that the strong collaboration between ASPutra, SMK Malim, and SMK Klebang Besar will persist for the benefit and success of students and future generations.
