ASPER PHYSICS EXHIBITION (APEx) 2020/2021

ASPer Physics Exhibition (APEx) 2020/2021 was organised to promote invention, innovation, and creativity culture among ASPer students. In line with the National Education Transformation, the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) is highlighted to produce skillful and innovative human capital. The exhibition is also a platform for students to share new ideas related to physics especially in mechanical concepts and to showcase their creative innovation.

The objectives of the programme are to cultivate invention, innovation and creativity culture among students especially in physics, to elevate students’ comprehension in physics concepts which enable students to do the real-world application, and to increase students’ interest in physics.

APEx was organised and managed by Physics lecturers and education service officers from the Centre of Foundation Studies for Agricultural Science, UPM. It is open for ASPer UPM students and they could either participate individually or in a group (a maximum of 5 persons each group). The fulfilment of APEx is to produce an invention project and video which are based on innovation and creativity by applying physics concepts. 14 creative videos were submitted but only 5 managed to proceed to the final round.

21 May 2021 was the final round of the competition and it was conducted virtually. 5 finalists presented their creative invention to professional juries—4 senior lectures of Physics from ASPer UPM and a senior lecturer from Faculty of Ocean Engineering Technology and Informatics, UMT.

The 5 finalists consist of groups 5, 7, 8, 9, and 11. There were 5 representatives from each group except for groups 7 and 11 who went solo and, in a pair, respectively.
