Serdang, 13th July 2025 – The Universiti Putra Malaysia (ASPutra) Science Foundation Centre, which has just celebrated its 20th anniversary (two decades), has welcomed 901 new students who have stepped into an important phase in the world of higher education when they officially join the Agricultural Science Foundation Programme for the 2025/2026 Academic Session. Their presence was welcomed through the organisation of the Putra Perkasa 2025 programme, which is a comprehensive introductory programme that aims to prepare students with the knowledge, understanding and enthusiasm to face the world of study at UPM.
On 12th July 2025, the programme began with a Student Familiarisation Ceremony with the ASPutra Management and Staff, where students had the opportunity to interact directly with the ASPutra administration and academic staff. This ceremony not only strengthens the initial relationship between students and management, but also provides an initial insight into the culture and values brought by UPM.

The session continued with several important briefings such as an Academic Briefing by Associate Prof. Dr. Noor Azmi Shaharuddin, Deputy Director I (Academic and Research).

Student Affairs Briefing by Dr. Muhammad Alif Mohamad Latif, Deputy Director II (HEP and JINM) on student affairs (HEP) to all new students of the UPM Agricultural Science Foundation Program for the 2025/2026 academic session.
During the briefing, he provided information on student facilities, student welfare, dress code as a student, student activities in sports, intellectuals and others.

Dr. Suhyna Mohamad Sulaiman, MD (UPM), Medical Officer, Head of Outpatient Division from the University Health Centre (PKU), Universiti Putra Malaysia shared about the medical and dental services provided at PKU for new students of the UPM Agricultural Science Foundation Programme for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The Putra VID briefing was delivered by Mr. Rizal Razak, Head of User Support Division, Information and Communication Development Center (IDEC), Universiti Putra Malaysia. New students of the UPM Agricultural Science Foundation Program for the 2025/2026 academic session were given a detailed explanation on using the Putra VID application.

The Putra Perkasa 2025/2026 Program continued with a Briefing from the Counseling Division of Universiti Putra Malaysia (BKUPM). This briefing was delivered by Mrs. Wan Azurani Wan Ahmad, Psychology Officer, Head of the Mental Health Section, BKUPM. She shared about the services offered at BKUPM and also regarding mental health awareness to all new ASPer21 students.

The program continued the next day, 13th July 2025, with a Briefing on Financial Aid for Public Institutions (BKA) presented by Puan Hasniah Hamid. The purpose of this briefing was to provide complete guidance on financial aid offered to undergraduate students, including eligibility requirements and application procedures.

The briefing session on the second day of the Putra Perkasa Program 2025/2026 continued with the WAZAN Briefing. The briefing was presented by Puan Syazana Masturah binti Othman from the UPM Waqf, Zakat and Infak Management Center (WAZAN).

New students of the UPM Agricultural Science Foundation Programme for the 2025/2026 academic session were given a briefing on personal safety measures and personal belongings during their time at UPM.
A place that will be frequently visited by ASPutra students is the Sultan Abdul Samad Library (PSAS) UPM. Excitement was clearly evident on the faces of the new students of the UPM Agricultural Science Foundation Programme for the 2025/2026 academic session in listening to the library services briefing presented by Pn. Fazlin Shamsudin, Librarian of the Reference Division at PSAS UPM.
At the closing session of the Putra Perkasa Council for today, new students of the UPM Agricultural Science Foundation Programme for the 2025/2026 academic session heard a briefing from several officers of the UPM Student Affairs Division (BHEP) and also from the UPM Student Representative Council. The introduction of BHEP and sharing about Student Wellbeing was well presented by Ms. Noraihan Noordin, Head of UPM Student Affairs Division.


The Putra Perkasa Program is not only a platform to introduce the university system to students, but also functions as an important adjustment process in the transition from school to higher education. It also serves as a medium for students to form their identity through activities to introduce values, culture, ethics and responsibilities as active and authoritative members of the UPM community.
As one of the foundation programs that is the main path to various fields of medicine, science, technology, agriculture and veterinary medicine, ASPer21 continues to be the choice of excellent SPM graduates from all over the country. The organization of the Putra Perkasa Program, which is structured and packed with information, reflects UPM's determination in ensuring that each new student is given adequate preparation to achieve success throughout their studies.
