The Mathematics Exploration Workshop aims to garner interest and promote higher level thinking skills in mathematics using a learning approach that is based on projects and activities. The workshop is held in 2 series involving as many as 240 Form Two students of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sg Besar, Sabak Bernam, Selangor.

The first series of the workshop was held on April 8th, 2019 where Algebra was the focus, having 4 projects conducted, known as 'Amazing Algebra', 'Freaking Fraction', 'Glad to Formulate' and 'Fun with Factoring'.

'Amazing Algebra' saw activities that focused on forming algebraic expression in solving various day-to-day problems, while 'Freaking Fraction' tested the students' understanding of the relationship between fractions, percentage and decimals. Activities in 'Fun with Factoring' looked at strengthening students' understanding of expanding and factoring as well as critical thinking in problem solving.  Lastly the activities in 'Glad to Formulate' tackled problem solving that involves math formulas through daily application.
