Serdang, August 12, 2021 – Getting involved in various community charity programmes, especially in activities involving giving and helping those in need, is so entrenched in the Malaysian community these days. This is evident in the implementations of public initiatives and activities as the pandemic has affected many Malaysians in terms of economy and income generation. Using the hashtag #Malaysia Prihatin, Malaysians have been sharing their act of kindness to help each other. 

In Islam, giving charity through knoeledge sharing is also a part of da'wah. Following this, ASPer has organised a knowledge and experience sharing session focusing on welfare activities titled 'Welfare Programme and Infaq'.

The sharing session was presented by Ustaz Zulhaimi bin Abdul Rahim, Chief Assistant Registrar of the the Centre of Foundation Studies for Agricultural Science. The invited speaker has vast experience in community services along with welfare programmes and infaq activities. So far, he has been involved in 'Program Infaq Kereta Jenazah', 'Program Wakaf Telaha', 'Program Infaq Pampers' and 'Program Infaq Bantal' among others. 

Generally, he Covid-19 pandemic outbreak has taken a devastating toll on families and triggered serious economic consequences in Malaysia. Most parents are struggling to provide for their families during this critical time. Some families need assitance but unaware of how to seek it, while some have the means to assist but have no knowledge about it. Thus, this sharing session can help to shed some light on these concerns and motivate and inspire people to give more to those in need. 

“خَيْرُ الناسِ أَنْفَعُهُمْ لِلناسِ” - The best person is the one who benefits all human beings.
