27 March 2019 – The Centre of Foundation Studies for Agricultural Science (ASPer) this week held its very first English Week where both students and staff members of the centre had the option to brush up on their English language skills outside the classroom for over four days from the 25^th March till 28^th March, 2019.

With the theme Whimsical Wonderland, the debut programme provided various exciting activities to facilitate the usage of the language which includes poetry competition, comic strip dialogue competition and Speaker’s Corner. Aside from the competitions which saw many entries, students were also able to send a gift along with a personalised message written in English to their friends or peers during English Week Dedication Day.

The event organised by the newly established ASPer English Unit involving nearly 950 students, aimed to boost students’ interest in the learning of the language through authentic and fun activities in addition to providing an occasion for students to practice using the language in casual and stress-free ways.

ASPer English Week 2019 is the first of its kind at the centre and students can expect another round of exciting activities next year as the event is scheduled to be held annually.
