SERDANG, 11 June – Centre for Foundation Studies in Science of Universiti Putra Malaysia (ASPutra), welcomed an academic visit from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Sungai Abong, Muar, Johor, in an academic engagement programme held at UPM today.
The programme began at 9:15 a.m. with welcoming remarks by Dr. Muhammad Alif Mohammad Latif, Deputy Director II of ASPutra, followed by an introductory briefing on ASPutra delivered by Mr. Tuan Muhammad Syafiq Tuan Hassan. The session provided an overview of academic life, co-curricular activities, and the facilities available at ASPutra.
A total of 80 Form 4 and Form 5 students from SMK Sungai Abong participated in an interactive knowledge transfer session held in the Biology, Chemistry, and Physics Laboratories. Each session featured hands-on and experiential learning activities designed to expose students to various branches of science.
The programme concluded with a photography session and light refreshments before the participants departed for Johor at 1:00 p.m. Students gave positive feedback, noting that the interactive and collaborative learning approach provided a meaningful experience and further ignited their interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
The visit also sparked students’ enthusiasm to consider ASPutra as one of their top choices for continuing their studies at the tertiary level.
