ONLINE ENGLISH FESTIVAL 2022

English Festival 2022 was held virtually from March 7th until March 21st in the second semester of ASPer’s academic calendar, similar to the previous year. The festival had witnessed students competing in three (3) competitions namely Let’s Get Reel!, Virtual Scavenger Hunt and EmojiDle.

LET’S GET REEL!

Let’s Get Reel! enabled participants to use their creativity to produce a short video in reel format based on the given theme, “Rely on You”. Winners were selected based on the scoring criteria set forth in the competition.

Nur Irdina Wafa Binti Mohd Yusree from Group 13 won first place, followed by Muhammad Wazif Bin Mohd Zaini from Group 38 as 1st Runner-up and Nur Aimi Yusreen Binti Mohd Yusri from Group 31 as 2nd Runner-up. Visit ASPer English Unit Instagram page (https://www.instagram.com/asperenglishunit/) to view their entries.

VIRTUAL SCAVENGER HUNT

Virtual Scavenger Hunt is an online group competition where participants were seen scampering around their dorm room or library via Zoom to solve problems and riddles.

Nur Kaseh Wildany Binti Mohd Hamzy, Keerthana Shri A/P Kalai Vanan and Janani A/P Loganathan  from Group 31 won the fierce competition (1st Place) while Nurul Qistina Binti Mohd Radzi, Rachael Anak Philip @ Baking and Daphne Yeow Jia Ying from Group 3 placed second (1st Runner-up).

EMOJIDLE

In EmojiDle, participants were given various sets of emoji in which they were tested on language proficiency, general knowledge and quick thinking skills.

Group 17 represented by Christ Clever Michael, Mohamad Azib Aiman, Irdina Aleeya, and Nor'adam Aziz led the competition by a wide margin (1st Place), while representatives from Group 36(A) which are Adilla Haryati Binti Jefri, Elianna Binti Ezuddin, Nurul Nadiah Binti Shamsulzairi and Nur Sufiah Binti Saifulazza attained second place.

ASPer English Unit hopes that this event will continuously be a platform for students to learn English in a stress-free environment. Learning a language is not necessarily dull; students could always find creative ways to enhance their learning experience.

“The capacity to learn is a gift; the ability to learn is a skill; the willingness to learn is a choice.” by Brian Herbert.
