The COVID-19 pandemic has undeniably reshaped the world, particularly at all levels of the education system. Virtual language learning over a long period of time for second language learners, if not refined, can especially be stressful for students; hence, educators are advised to consider different teaching and learning methods to ease the constraints of the pandemic. In order to mitigate the impacts on students not to be burdened by the changes caused by these new norms, an Online English Festival (OEF) 2021 program was conducted to aid students’ learning and stimulate them to learn while having fun mastering English in a more creative way.

Organized by ASPer English Unit, the program was held for a month starting from March 15, 2021 until April 16, 2021 in line with the 4C objectives: critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication. This year, students competed individually and as their group representatives through an online  platform, Zoom, for the first time in four (4) competitions namely Virtual Scavenger Hunt, K.O. Draw, EmojiDe and DIY Vacation.

ASPer English Unit congratulates all the winners and ASPer-16 for their active participation and cooperation in making this program a success. It is hoped that the memories shared through OEF 2021 will be cherished and are able to motivate all students to continue learning to improve their English proficiency even during this time of uncertainty.
