Physics Team Building 2026 Fosters Unity, Teamwork and Leadership

On 7 February 2026 (Saturday), the Physics Unit, Centre for Foundation Studies in Science, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), comprising 12 members, organized the Physics Team Building 2026 programme at Pantai Lexis Hibiscus from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. The programme was conducted in line with the objectives outlined in the proposal, namely to strengthen rapport, foster teamwork, and enhance communication and cohesion among members of the Physics Unit. The programme was led by Dr. Emma Ziezie Mohd Tarmizi as the Programme Director.

The programme was officially launched by the Director of the Centre for Foundation Studies in Science, UPM, Associate Professor Dr. Marina Mohd. Top @ Mohd. Tah, on 4 February 2026 at 2.30 p.m. at the Director’s Office, Asasi 1. The officiating ceremony was symbolized by the presentation of a programme souvenir bag by the Programme Director, Dr. Emma Ziezie Mohd Tarmizi, together with the Head of the Physics Unit, Dr. Siti Suzlliana Putri Mohamed Isa, marking the official commencement of the programme.

A total of 12 activities were conducted throughout the programme, including the Silent Timeline Challenge, Flour Discovery Mission, Water Balloon Chain Challenge, Future Scientist Raincoat Challenge, Biscuit Engineering Tower, Sand Structure Finale, and several other activities designed to emphasize teamwork, creativity, communication, and leadership within groups.

Participants were divided into two groups, namely Group 1 and Group 2. The overall results showed that Group 1 emerged as the winner with a total of 220 points, while Group 2 obtained 184 points. Group 1 received two victory hampers, whereas Group 2 received one hamper. Overall, the programme successfully achieved its intended objectives and had a positive impact on all participants.
