PITRAM Gold Award 2022

ASPER WON 2 GOLD AND 4 SILVER IN THE PRE-UNIVERSITY MALAYSIA INNOVATION COMPETITION (PIITRAM 2022).

The 2nd Pre-University Malaysia Innovation Competition (PIITRAM 2022) was successfully held on March 2nd – 8th, 2022. The annual competition was organised by Universiti Pertahanan Malaysia (UPNM) and was attended by 30 representatives from various foundation centres at public universities and matriculation colleges in Malaysia. Almost 288 entries were registered in this competition. The competition was conducted virtually using the Zoom platform.

Six entries have been submitted to the Piitram 2022 by the Centre of Foundation Studies for Agricultural Science (ASPer).  The entries included three student groups (Student Category) and three academic groups (Academic Category). Three mentors from the Physics department—Dr. Ihwan Syafiq Bin Mohd Noor, Dr Emma Ziezie Binti Mohamad Tarmizi, and Dr Ya'akob Mansor—assisted the student groups respectively.

The participants in the Student Category had experienced some hurdles during the competition as the project presentation took place during the assessment week. However, this was not an excuse for them not to give their all. In the end, the students managed to bag two gold medals and one silver medal.

In the Academic Category, the units of Biology, Agriculture, and English Language also presented their teaching innovations that had been featured during class lessons. These innovation projects were led by Mr. Muhammad Amiruddin Ibrahim (Biology), Mr. Mohamad Haidir Mohamed Noor (Agriculture), and Miss Zur Hanis Hamim (English), respectively. They returned home with three silver medals.

Heartiest congratulations to all participants for their efforts and success.
