The Centre of Foundation Studies for Agricultural Science recently organised a 2^nd edition of a blood donation campaign series to instil the value of giving back to society amongst its members. The blood donation campaign was held through collaboration with the National Blood Centre and the High Student Committee of ASPer '17 on March 5th, 2022 at Dewan Putra 1, Kolej Tiga Belas.

This successful initiative was supported by 10 ASPer '17 student volunteers, led by En. Mohd Fadzil bin Suhaimi and Pn. Hasniah Hamid, who ensured that the program ran smoothly. On the day of the programme, the volunteers arrived at Dewan Putra 1 at around 8.30 a.m. and started arranging chairs and tables according to the plan. Staff from the National Blood Centre arrived at 9.30 a.m. and began sorting and setting up their equipment at each station. Several students came early and were required to wait outside while the National Blood Centre staff completed their preparations.

The entire programme ran smoothly for the whole day. There was an overwhelming response from all donors, comprised of ASPer 17 students, UPM Bachelor programme students, UPM staff, and residents in the area around UPM Serdang during the blood drive, resulting in the collection of more than 130 blood packs. The campaign ended at 4.30 p.m.

The event thanked the supportive volunteers and the caring voluntary blood donors among Asper 17, as well as other participants, for their life-saving gifts of blood in ensuring the availability of blood for patients in need. Deepest appreciation was also given to the staff from the National Blood Centre for helping make the blood donation programme a success that day.
